Hi, everyone!

The Holiday of Yom Kippur, is upon us, well me at least. It is a Jewish Holiday, where you say sorry for all things that you have done during the past year and ask for forgiveness.

Here's some information about this holiday: http://www.jewfaq.org/holiday4.htm

I would like to say that I am sorry, if I rubbed anyone the wrong way, said things that I shouldn't have said to you or made you feel bad in abyway shape or form. I will try to do my best in the upcoming year to be a better person.

If you are celebrating the Jweish New Year, have a great new year. If you don't celebrate it have a great start to the new school year and beyond.

It's a little late, but L'Shanah Tovah Tikatevu!

I very much like the Jewish tradition of Yom Kippur. It's so much more real to make amends to the actual people that were hurt rather than to just tell God you were sorry as some traditions do.

Not that you have anything to be sorry for with me!

I hope you have a lovely Yom Kippur!

Thanks for the link BTW, I had no clue what Yom Kippur was about, but now I do.

Nice post, Deborah. I'm sure you're aware that blanket apologies are no substitute for specific apologies to specific people for specific wrongs, so pardon me for even mentioning this, but I thought it might be worth clarifying this point for your friends who are not familiar with the custom.

It was always my understanding that blanket apologies are for wrongs you don't know you committed. Is that not so?

That's what I understand also. If you accidently did something that you didn't realize and the other person was upset by it and didn't say anything to you. That a blanket apology is ok.

If I have done something wrong to somone and realized it, I would go to that person and apologize.
