My name is Deborah and I am 33 years old from Queens, NY. I work at the library helping people to use computers.

A few of my interests are: traveling, blogging, reading, movies, Harry Potter, knitting, needlepoint, House MD.

I'm Kali - that is me in the icon. I am 34 years old, a Scorpio, a photographer, an artist, a dreamer and a bit of a bitch. :) I live in the mid south with my beloved husband and our menagerie of cats & dogs who are, in fact my babies. My kids are actually those of my husband from a previous marriage. They're mostly grown now and really not talked about here too much. Tegan is 20, Alysa 17, and Autumn 15. Sadly the younger two have little contact with us these days but that is okay because for everything there is a season.

I am part of the FMS crew - yes Fibromyalgia runs my life. I am currently working on setting up my disability. I do not work. My journal runs the gambit from mundane to drama (which I try to avoid) to my spiritual side, to my artistic and photographic endeavors, and to everything else this side of Saturn.

I love making new friends but I should warn you, thanks to a bit of a problem with the hubby's ex-spouse, I don't have a profile, LJ interests, or many open posts. If you'd like to join my friends' only following, I'd love to have you!

Okay, I'll bite. I don't do these things much, but I'll give it a shot.

I'm a 43 (well, almost 44, yikes) stay at home mom. I have biological children, stepchildren, adopted children, and lots of people who call me "Mom" that I consider my children. Mom is what I do. Most of my kids are grown, but there are those who aren't, the youngest of whom is four.

I'm hugely into the whole social consciousness thing. I want to help make the world a better place as best I can, and my way is a little more unconventional than most as the majority of those "lots of people who call me mom" are gang members and I take care of them when I can, however I can. I try to help illuminate the fact that not all gang members are violent, drug dealing killers and that society has helped largely to put them where they are. The ones with whom I associate are good, honourable people who are just trying to survive.

I run a community called betherevolution that hopes to get LJers to talk about issues of importance today. Sadly, it doesn't get a lot of people talking, but I'm working on that.

I have a lot of ranty posts, many of which involve my husband and marriage, which are issues I'm trying to break away from. Current things being how they are, it's difficult at the moment. But it's getting easier.

This is getting really long, isn't it? Sorry!

I'll just end by saying that my most frequent rants past the husband thing have to do with intolerance. Intolerance of all kinds bothers me, from racism (I've never experienced it myself, per se, being white, but my two adopted sons are African American and much of my extended family is comprised of minorities) to homophobia to sexism to disdain for the poor, etc. Big mish mash there.

I also love reading, fantasy, roleplaying, kids, animals, mythology, etc. I like lots of things. I'm usually easy to please.

Now that I've written a book, I'll bow out. Sorry again for the length!

I'm 34, recently transplanted to Ft Myers area of Florida, currently unemployed and looking like mad, mom to four dogs and a cat, and a little on the crazy side.

My name is Sheila (27) and Im from the suburbs of Boston Massachusetts. I'm currently unemployed as I got fired for being sick with the FLU so Im collecting unemployment insurance. I suffer from Depression and Anxiety so Im trying to get disability insurance which is a painful process in itself as Ive been trying for over three years now.

I live at home with my mom. For money, I walk two clients dogs. I have a one year old black Pug named Chloe and a three year old Corgi named Codie. They are what keeps me going. I do not have any pets of my own but hope one day I can get a cat. (I would love a dog but the mother superior says no)
