Do Not Call Registry

This is the number for the National Do Not Call Registry.

REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month.

REMINDER..... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls..

.... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222 888-382-1222 .
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON .. It takes about 20 seconds.

Deb, where are you hearing that cell phone numbers are going to go public this month? I work in the cellular industry (granted, it's sales) and have not heard a thing about this.

Okay I looked on Snopes.com and it's mostly a scam.

Here's the truth (and the same thing I tell my customers). As of right now there isn't any plans to make cellphones public, like in the case of phone books.

Your name will not be listed in a phonebook along with your cell number. HOWEVER if you put down your cell number (for contact reasons) on any form, that doesn't stop certain telemarketing companies who make a living collecting those numbers, from getting yours. It's not coming from a AT&T or Verizon or T-mobile phone book, however.

You can register your cell phone in the donotcall directory, but your number will NOT be published without your consent if you do not.

My son got his cell phone from the government that puts 80 free mins a month on it. Let the telemarketers call it. I won't have to pay for it. It's a government phone LMAO

Plus I have had telemarketers call my cellphone and never got charged for it. That's so weird.

Urban Legend... just like the last one you posted that I commented on... you may want to check on snopes.com before posting anything that "you need to pass on to everyone" because generally when they say these things, it's an urban legend.
